David Beckham injury
David Beckham's chances of playing for England in this summer's 2010 World Cup in Africa have ended after the midfielder and ex-Preston player suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon during AC Milan's 1-0 win over Chievo on Sunday.
The 34-year-old former England captain, who is on loan at AC Milan from LA Galaxy, had been hoping to play in his fourth World Cup finals but now faces a long battle to save his career.
